The Metal Mansions Battle of the Bands is making a return to Potters.

The event, which is one of the largest of its kind in the East Midlands, runs over 13 weeks in the spring at Potters in Langley Mill.
It is open to original bands of any genre, from rock and metal to blues, soul and punk.

First prize is £700 cash with a host of other goodies and there are substantial cash prizes up for second and third places including musical equipment and studio time.

Previous winners have included the acclaimed Censored from Ilkeston who have go on to appear at the Carling Festival in Leeds and Derby's James Warner Prophecies who are one of the UK's most respected acts and tour Europe regularly.

The organisers expect the cream of the East Midlands bands to feature in the 2008 contest.

Entry to the contest is £20. For more details email Metal Mansions at metal.mansions@ntlworld.com or visit the Potters website at www.potterslangleymill.co.uk.
