Festival-goers will be heading to Middleton for a celebration of local bands and beer on June 21.
Midfest will be marking the first anniversary of landlord Dave and Lorraine Mountford at the Rising Sun and promoting some of the best bands the Dales has to offer.

Rising Sun regulars who will be taking to the stage include rock five-piece Serotonin, punk legends Candy Apple Sour, The Something, Norcsalordie, The Skints and Double Dynamite.

Beer from Derbyshire's microbrewies, such as Thornbridge Brewery in Ashford in the Water and Peak Ales at Chatsworth, will be on sale, along with a hog roast.

Landlord Dave said he hopes Midfest will become an annual event for the village and was pleased to be backing local talent.

He added: "These bands have put us on the map.

"We hadn't run a pub before we came here and it has been a real success."

The refurbished Rising Sun has become a hotbed for local talent.

Dave added: "Everybody keeps telling us it is the busiest pub in the area now.

"It is a real community pub and we wanted to put something back in to the community."

The festival runs from 2pm until 11pm.
