A Peak District village will open its gardens to the public for the first time this weekend to raise money for a church appeal.
Great Longstone Open Gardens Weekend will bring green-fingered tourists to the village to view the residents' fantastic range of floral gardens.

Organiser Jennifer Rowson said there was an impressive range of styles on offer, with everything from immaculate lawns to rustic wildlife gardens.

Jennifer said: "This is a new venture which we hope will be well supported and raise money for the church

"A dozen or so residents have kindly offered their gardens for visitors to look round," she added.

There will be crafts and plants for sale and refreshments will be available.

The event is from 11am to 5pm on Saturday and noon to 5pm on Sunday.

Programmes and tickets will be available from the Church Lane car park.
