Rock festival organisers have revealed a second stage will be added to the bill this year, after the success of last year's event in a Peak District village.
The ever-popular Youlgrave Festival will return bigger and better than ever before on September 12 and 13 at the village playing fields.

At least 16 bands will play on the two stages over the two nights, as well as various surprise special guests.

Festival organiser Phil Wildbore said: "We have always tried to have an eclectic mix of music but with just one stage it was difficult.

"It will cost more to run two stages but it will make a more complete festival in terms of covering a much broader range of musical styles and tastes.

"We felt we raised the bar last year with the standard of musicians so this was the only way forward," he added.

Local businesses have sponsored the event this year and this has helped attract signed bands from Stressed Sumo Records to join Dales favourites on the diverse bill.

Hotly-tipped Nottingham punk rockers Swound! will headline Friday night on the Monkey Genes stage and The Remoulds will return to the Road Jeans stage on Saturday after a highly-successful performance at last year's festival.

Sheffield's Smiling Ivy, Bakewell's Dynamite Victim and Dales skiffle band Please Y'Self have all confirmed they will play.

And multi-talented Dales musician Dan Martin, the Scutty Neighbours from Middleton and the intriguingly-named Fat Fish look set to delight the festival crowds too.

Weekend tickets for the festival will cost £10, with tickets for the individual days costing £7.
