The store at Giltbrook will open at 6am until midnight for a one-time offer where customers can take advantage of the 21 per cent discounts.

Events on Saturday include children's entertainers, Trent FM and Ram FM on site and competitions. To help manage the event successfully Nottingham Rugby Club, the Girl Guides and the local police have all offered their services to support the store on the day.

Ikea has also apologised in advance for any traffic congestion caused on Saturday.

Customers shopping at IKEA stores in the UK on 19th April 2008 between the times of 6am and 12midnight, (doors close 11.55pm), will be entitled to a complimentary discount of 21% in celebration of the 21st anniversary of IKEA trading in the UK.

• 21% discount will apply to the complete IKEA product range of furniture and accessories including articles in the IKEA Family range, The Swedish Food Market and The Bargain Corner*. The offer is made subject to product availability.
