Live music will be returning to one of the areas oldest venues on Saturday.
Derbyshire based band The Amplifires will be reopening The Boat Inn, in Cromford, following the pubs recent period of closure.

Fans can expect the usual mix of punk, rock and blues from the popular four-piece, with a collection of classic covers and original songs, belting female vocals, powerful beats and boot stompin', American style sound.

Guitarist Steve Rawlinson, said: "For us it is a very welcome return. The Boat is our spiritual home – we formed, rehearsed and did our first gig here and it was our venue of choice when we launched our first album in March 2007.

"Although we are known for playing our own material The Boat will see us perform a largely covers set including numbers by bands like Blondie, Goldfrapp, Ramones, Led Zeppelin and T-Rex – it will be fun"

The free gig will start at around 9pm.
