Erewash Musical Society are searching for an "ageing black disco-dancer" to complete the cast for their forthcoming production of The Full Monty.
Their adaptation of the hit film is due to be performed at Trent College in Long Eaton in February 2009 but chairman Adrian Perkins warns the society is up against a deadline.
He said: "Time is running out with rehearsals starting in September and
we need to have everything in place before then, including men able to pull it off, so to speak."
The show, as in the film, is set in a rundown steel city, but this time it's in Buffalo, New York, so along with an American accent the characters have to be able to sing, dance and act.
In particular the society requires someone to play the part of "Horse" -played by Paul Barber in the film version (pictured) who is described as an ageing black disco 'has-been' type character.
Any men that feel they have the X factor and are interested in going along for audition which are to be held during the summer should contact Adrian Perkins on 01332 875350 or visit the society's web site at
www.erewashmusicalsociety.co.uk.
The society is currently in rehearsal for their production of Gilbert & Sullivan's HMS Pinafore to be held at St John Houghton School in Ilkeston in September. Tickets for this show are available by visiting the society's web site.
