One of Britain's most-celebrated cricket commentators and raconteurs will take to the stage with his side-splitting one-man show this Saturday.
Henry Blofeld, voice of BBC Radio's Test Match Special, will muse on a wide variety of subjects, including pigeons, double-decker buses, planes, tea ladies, and cakes.

Renowned as the voice of cricket and one of the great characters of the game, B
lowers, as he is affectionately known, is famed for his catchphrase – "my dear old thing".

He remains one of the most respected, knowledgeable and charming commentators in the sport.

An Evening With Blowers is a thoroughly quintessential British affair in which Henry trawls through his extraordinary life and career, and pays homage to his insatiable passion for cricket.

Blowers dropped out of Cambridge to pursue a brief career in finance, before beginning his chequered career in journalism which later led him broadcasting and later still to Test Match Special where he continues to hold court to this day.

Along the way he recounts hilarious anecdotes about the wonderful characters he has encountered on his journey, including Ian Fleming, Noel Coward, Nigel Havers and Boris Johnson.

An Evening With Blowers comes to the Derby Assembly Rooms at 7.30pm.
