Robert Louis Stephenson's swashbuckling tale of adventure, Treasure Island, will be brought to life at Buxton Opera House this week.
The Birmingham Stage Company will delight families with its spectacular new production from today until Saturday.

The book, which has been adapted for the stage by Stuart Paterson, tells the tale of young Jim Hawkins's discovery of a treasure map in The Admiral Benbow Inn, and the amazing adventure which follows.

Jim sets sail on the open seas with friend Squire Trelawney, cook Long John Silver and a hand-picked crew of raucous seamen.

But when one-legged pirate Silver surprises the crew on arrival at the island, Jim is faced with an even more exciting and dangerous adventure.

The Birmingham Stage Company brought the hugely-successful Kensuke's Kingdom and The Jungle Book to Buxton in recent years and this looks set to be another ripping yarn for all the family.

There will be two shows each day, with an evening performance at 7pm and an earlier show at 1.30pm on Thursday, 10am on Friday, and 2pm on Saturday.
