Heanor Operatic Society's Youth Theatre Company celebrates its 13th anniversary with the popular Guys and Dolls, which will be performed at Heanor Gate Science College from Wednesday, May 28 to Friday, May 30.
The show was first produced on Broadway in 1950, and some years ago was performed by the senior Heanor Operatic Society. It contains great songs which include Guys & Dolls, Luck Be a Lady, Sit Down You're Rockin' the Boat and A Bushel and a Peck.
The music and lyrics are by Frank Loesser and the book is by Jo Swerling and Abe Burrows. It's based on a short story, The Idyll of Miss Sarah Brown.
It tells the tale of three gamblers and their dolls and their
involvement in a bet.
Sam Barson of Stapleford and Ilkeston's William Arter have taken on key roles alongside cast members from Heanor and Derby.
Chairman of the Society Julia Allsop promises a lively, colourful show packed with great tunes.
She said: "The Youth Theatre Company is now in its 13th year and they continue to go from strength to strength with many of the members taking part in our senior shows.
"Some of them are also becoming involved in the production of our shows, working on sound, lighting, set building and stage management."
Tickets for the show are available from 01773 762042.
The show starts at 7.30pm. Tickets are £7.50 for adults and £6.50 for concessions.
