A new initiative is providing childminders with the right skills to care for children in Derbyshire.

A course provided by Derbyshire County Council is on offer free of charge to anyone interested in becoming a childminder.

There are currently three courses running in support of 66 new childcare providers across Derbyshire.

Coun Barry Lewis, Derbyshire County Council’s Cabinet Member for Young People, said: “We want parents and carers in Derbyshire to be able to access the highest quality childcare.”
