Ilkeston’s history on film

ILKESTON’S history will be brought to life at a screening of vintage footage on Friday.

Clips stored by the Media Archive for Central England (MACE) will be shown at not-for-profit arts organisation Wash Arts’s new premises in Bath Street.

Amateur film makers are also being invited to bring their own archive footage, which could be added to the growing MACE library.

The clips on show at this month’s event will show the changing face of Ilkeston and include a visit from TV star Chris Tarrant to the Charnos factory in 1978.

The free screening is from 1.30pm to 4.30pm at 154-156 Bath Street. Refreshments will be available.

For more information call Wash Arts director Susan Smith on 0115 9328171 or email susan@washarts.co.uk.
