80 homes plan for site

UP TO 80 homes could be built on the site of former factories in Long Eaton which were destroyed by a fire three years ago.

The blaze at a former mattress factory on Bennett Street near to the junction with Britannia Road led to the buildings being demolished.

Plans were already in place to knock down the properties.

Wade Furniture Group Ltd has applied to Erewash Borough Council for outline planning permission to develop the land.

Outline plans will be discussed by the planning committee.
