Rail solution for Stanton
Regarding the concerns from local residents about roads into and out of the proposed Stanton and Quarry Hill housing sites being anything but adequate, is there not a solution under the planners’ noses.
There is a rail branch line into Stanton on the Erewash line still in use, I believe, which runs through Sandiacre and Stapleford over Toton high level into Nottingham on through Long Eaton, round Sheetstores Curve and on to Derby. My suggestion is a second Ilkeston Stanton railway station.
