Brian Haslam's photo of the Gladstone Boys School Choir in the early 1950s.

An ex-pupil at a former Ilkeston school, who spent many happy days singing with his school choir, has sent in this photograph from 1950 or 1951.

Brian Haslam, who was 12 or 13 in the picture, can be seen fourth from the left on the front row in the picture of the Gladstone Boys School choir.

The three men behind him are Mr Freeman in the centre, who was headmaster and teachers Mr Thompson on his left and Mr Purdy on the right.

Brian could name a few people in the picture, including Thomas Skelton, second from the left on the back row, and Brian Parker, third from the right.

Call Brian on 01332 736317 to share your memories of the school.
