Monkey business for St George

One of Britain’s top folk bands Brass Monkey bring their own unique English music to celebrate St George’s Day at the Assembly Rooms in Derby on Friday, April 20.

No-one sounds like Brass Monkey. Martin Carthy and John Kirkpatrick naturally lock into one another’s playing with an ease and precision that comes by playing together for over 30 years.

They bring the fruits of years of experience to this band with an explosive freshness that is clearly driven by the excitement they all feel by playing music together.

It’s a rare treat to see five masters of their art combine with such openhearted enthusiasm to reach tremendous heights. Tickets are £16, concessions £15, and under 16yrs £8, available from the box office 01332 255800, or the Ticket Hotline on 01773 853428.
