Vintage tramway driving at Crich Tramway Village

Vintage tramway driving at Crich Tramway Village

Crich Tramway Village is again launching its popular Ultimate Driving Experience, where members of the public get the chance of a lifetime opportunity to take the handles of a vintage tramcar.

The Village started the Public Tram Driving Courses over 20 years ago and it has increased in popularity over the years so much that they even offer an Advanced Course to those who have already attended the beginners’ day and can’t wait to come back for more!

Starting with a theory lesson, the courses progress to actual tram driving, ending with a certificate to take away to commemorate the day.

Friends and relatives take great delight in photographing the entire event to accompany the certificate, for their albums and posterity.

Lunch for you and your guest is also included in the package.

Cara Marchant, who is the marketing manager at the Village said: “Our Ultimate Driving Experience allows members of the public to travel back in time as they journey along the cobbled street and out into the countryside with breath-taking views over the Derwent valley.

“The feedback that we get from participants really is fantastic”.

To find out more about this scheme at Crich Tramway Village, you can phone 01773 854321 or visit www.tramway.co.uk

Crich Tramway Village is open daily from March 29 to November 3.

It is situated near Matlock, Derbyshire, eight miles from M1 junction 28.
