£1.3m investment in village pipe plant

ONE of Erewash’s biggest employers has benefited from a £1.3m boost to provide ‘state-of-the-art’ facilities.

Saint-Gobain PAM UK is investing the cash in its headquarters in Stanton-by-Dale, which produces pipes sold around the world.

The French firm has said the cash injection shows its commitment to its UK operations.

Managing director of Saint-Gobain PAM Paul Minchin said: “We are constantly seeking ways to optimise service to customers while removing unnecessary costs from the supply chain and this investment will help to achieve both of these aims.

“This investment is a clear demonstration of our commitment to the UK market – and in offering high-specification products backed by fast and responsive service.”

Saint-Gobain owns the former Stanton Ironworks where 3,000 houses are planned to be built.
