It’s good news for jobseekers and bargain food shoppers as frozen food giant Iceland has announced it is opening an Ilkeston store.
A total of 20 new jobs will be created at the new store in the Waterside Retail Park, Station Road.
The supermarket is set to open its doors on Tuesday July 9, so those hoping to work there have not got long to apply for positions.
Area manager Andrew Dawson said: “We are delighted to be opening our new store in Waterside Retail Park.
“This represents a considerable investment by Iceland Foods and we will be creating 20 new jobs for the area.
“Our range of frozen, fresh and grocery will add greatly to the food shopping choice in the Ilkeston area.”
He added that customers who spend more than £25 on shopping can get free home delivery.
The number of shops in Waterside Retail Park has grown considerably in recent years.
Family bargains opened there last year and Argos moved from Bath Street in 2009.
