£50,000 boost for Ilkeston schools

Over £50,000 has been awarded to two Ilkeston schools to boost facilities.

St Thomas Catholic Primary and the nursery unit at Dallimore Primary are among 12 schools across the county to be awarded funding by Derbyshire County Council.

Dallimore Primary receives £15,000 to improve toilet facilities, while St Thomas Catholic Primary has been allocated £40,000 to improve playground access.

Deputy cabinet member for children’s services, Councillor Caitlin Bisknell, said: “By offering schools this money, children will be able to learn in improved conditions.”
