An aspiring apprentice who had unsuccessfully approached more than 100 employers before Sandiacre-based Three Valleys Housing stepped in, showed what they had missed out on when he collected the Direct Works Forum award for second year Apprentice of the Year.
After receiving his award from Chair of the Housing Corporation, Peter Dixon, nineteen year old Ravi Bhalla said: "This is a real honour and I want to thank Three Valleys Housing for supporting me through my apprenticeship".

Ravi works as an apprentice plumber for Three Valleys Housing.

Head of Property Services, Mick Archer said: "He has been a credit to himself and to Three Valleys Housing since he arrived."

Mick Archer said: "Ravi's attitude to work, his timekeeping and his commitment, are first class. He has worked hard and he really deserves this award."

Since joining Three Valleys Housing in September 2005, Ravi has also studied in his spare time to improve his skills, and has received NVQ and City & Guilds awards in plumbing.
