A DRIVING instructor in Ilkeston has bought his second BMW to teach in.
Gareth Hickling, who lives on Oakham Way in Ilkeston, bought the 320 turbo sport convertible a couple of months ago after his black BMW - which he invested in six years ago - proved so successful. The new addition has got leather heated seats and air
conditioning.

Gareth, who teaches with the roof down when it's sunny, said: "It's a great car to teach in and gives people a great opportunity to learn in a great car.

"The larger the car, the easier it is to drive. The gears are more forgiving, the clutch is easy. People get used to it straight away.

"It's got safety features on it that are not in a standard car, the visibility is good and it's got the power when you need it to overtake on a dual carriageway.

"People can't wait for their driving lesson - it's the highlight of their week! The moment they get into the car they start smiling, and that smile never leaves their face. They can have the roof down, it's great, it gives them a feel good factor."

Gareth has got 12 instructors working for him, one of which teaches in a mini. Anybody interested in learning to drive the swanky way should call him on 07968 746 963.

Gareth, who wants to have half a dozen more BMWs within the next few years, said: "It's quite funny seeing the look on the examiners face when we turn up at the test centre and he comes out with his clipboard and sees us!"
