Erewash residents tuned into a new radio station for the Borough on Saturday when Erewash Sound was launched.
Ilkeston-born actor Robert Lindsay helped the station go live with a special event at the town's Co-op department store.

The My Family star then gave an exclusive interview to the station.
DJ Jeff Martin said: "It was great to have Robert there to launch the station officially.

"We've been getting lots of good feedback, it seems people are really enjoying the station."

The station – which has been broadcasting online since 2005 – has been granted a five-year licence by Ofcom and will broadcast live 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

The station will be manned mainly by volunteers and based at Bennerley Business and Enterprise College, Cotmanhay Road, Ilkeston.

Jeff Martin said: "We've got something for everyone, from today's hits all the way back to stuff from the 60s – all the family can listen."
