A grandmother from Ilkeston and an 11-year-old boy have been killed in a car crash in Bulgaria.
Gerry McLeod, 54, and Paul McLeod were involved in an accident in Varna, a holiday resort on the Black Sea, Friday evening.

A Bulgarian woman, aged 76, is also believed to have been killed, while Paul's schoolfriend, Dillon Shaw, 10, has been hospitalised.

According to local media the car was hit by a bus and it is thought Ms McLeod was driving at the time.

A spokeswoman for the Foreign Office said that the family's next of kin have been informed and consular assistance has been offered to them.

For more see this week's Ilkeston Advertiser, out Thursday.
