ILKESTON head balancer John Evans is aiming to add another world record to the 32 he already holds.
On May 17, on Ilkeston Market Place, John will balance 300 loaves of low GI bread on his head, courtesy of Stacey's Bakery in Ilkeston. Each loaf is usually sold at 90p, but will be available at 50p after the record attempt. The family-run business is also set to donate £100 to John's chosen charity, the Derbyshire Association for the Blind.

John will also balance Rambo, the famous 6ft 6in tall Stacey's mascot who usually stands guard outside the South Street shop, on his head, and there will be an auction for a handmade cake bearing the record holder's logo.

John, of Awsworth Road, will be joined by Peter Dowdeswell of Northampton, who holds more than 300 world records for his eating and drinking feats.

He will be enticing spectators to take part in his custard pie eating contest - the winner of which will be presented with a signed t-shirt.
All money raised will go to DAB.
