Mum-of-five is top of class

AN ILKESTON mum of five has graduated top of her class after achieving the highest marks in her degree.
Anna Connelly-Childs, 30, received her degree from the University of Derby at a graduation ceremony on Saturday.

Anna, married to Andrew, 31, juggled studying for her BSc Honours Degree in International Relations and Global Development with being a full-time mum to her own five children, Imogen,13, Toby, ten, Jasmine, eight, Ellis, four and Jamie, two, as well as working as a childminder.

She said: "It was hard work and a lot of long days but totally worth it.

"I could never have done it without the support of my husband, parents and other family and friends."

Anna, of Kingston Avenue, Ilkeston, enjoyed studying so much she is now back at university working towards a professional status qualification.
