Healthy eating will be on the menu at Bennerley Fields Special School after they received a £700 It's Your Community Award from O2.
Each month up to 60 projects throughout the UK receive up to £1,000 of funding, and the Cotmanhay school intends to spend its share on promoting healthy eating and enterprise skills by creating a vegetable garden, complete with raised beds and a greenhouse.

The project will link to other schools and, hopefully, lead to being able to buy produce. Pupils will also create recipe booklets which will accompany the vegetables.

They will shortly begin preparing the area for the vegetable garden.
The O2 It's Your Community grants must be for the benefit of the community or to build community spirit.

For more information about the awards, visit www.itsyourcommunity.co.uk.
