PRIME Minister Gordon Brown has sent a personal letter of congratulations to Erewash after the council was awarded another Charter Mark.
The mark rewards excellence in customer service and was recently awarded to Erewash's Directorate for Corporate Services - meaning that all the council's directorates boast the accolade. It also puts Erewash in the elite minority of authorities nationwide who have been given a Charter Mark for the efforts of each of its service areas.

And Lead member for Community Services, Cllr Carol Hart last week read a letter from the Prime Minister to her colleagues, saying he asked her to pass on his congratulations. It added: "The Charter Mark Standard is not easily achieved and it is a tribute to your organisation."

Mr Brown also wished the council continued success.
