LAST SUNDAY saw the end of four years of fun in a field.
The final Park Hall Live charity ‘moo-sic’ festival entertained its crowd of all ages for twelve hours with acts from all over the region and beyond.

The live music began with a stirring bagpipe set from Hugh Lamont, then compere Tris Walker took
to the stage to welcome Park Hall Live’s largest audience and introduce the first act, The Jet Boys.

Throughout the day trials bike riders from Onza treated the audience to a taste of the extreme with stunts and tricks.

They even invited the audience to participate by jumping over first one, then two, then three members of the crowd as they lay on the grass. All to a classic rock soundtrack provided by star DJs Wolfman & It.

It was a day for dressing up: The Exorsisters appeared in a variety of strange outfits with lead singer Kurt wearing a rather fetching pink wig.

The boys from Patchwork Grace appeared in drag. Dipman, Dip’s own superhero friend turned up in tights and crash helmet to distribute beach balls during the specially written song ‘Good bye Park Hall Live’.

The Small Town Bullies were joined by a friend dressed as ‘Lily Allen’, encouraging the crowd to dance along to their jazz funk fun and frolics. The night performances were lit up by a spectacular rig from ‘Raw Lighting & Power’. Taking the festival to its midnight close was Basketcase. A happy crowd pogoed away to their rock and punk covers, joining in during a fast rendition of ‘Nelly the Elephant’.

This year Park Hall Live raised £5,000 and will donate all profits to Ivy House, a school in Derby for children with disabilities.

Organiser Tris said: “Everyone involved is a volunteer, and many people give up their time, resources and skills for free. This means the organisers can donate even more to their chosen charity.

“The money raised by Park Hall Live has so far helped the children go on holidays to France and Butlins, take day trips to a sensory experience centre and has supported physical activities in the community.”
