This year's Spring Fair at Ilkeston Community Hospital attracted nearly 1,000 people and raised over £1,200 for League funds.
The Mayor of Erewash Cllr Barbara Harrison opened the fair as her first official duty.

Ilkeston Hospital's League of Friends chair Mike Perry said: "Derbyshire Fire and Rescue Service attended to show support – but they had to dash off to a fire leaving their mascot Welephant to entertain the public.

"The Manners & Oakwell Ward soon sold out on their bottle stall, as did the cake stall. The Occupational Therapy Unit did a sponsored cycle ride using fitness cycles and raised over £200, covering over 114 kilometres.

"Support for the League continues to grow and funds raised are used to purchase equipment, some to save patients making journeys to Nottingham or Derby."
