Two teenagers have been arrested after allegedly stealing lead flashing from properties on Erewash Square in Ilkeston.
A 52-year-old resident on the road rang the police in the early hours of Friday morning to say two youths were trying to steal lead from the side of his house.

When officers arrived they arrested an 18-year-old at the scene and a 14-year-old nearby on suspicion of theft and handling stolen goods.

Police found a pile of lead on Erewash Square and some more on Hornbeam Close. They posted leaflets through all the doors on Erewash Square asking residents to get in touch if they had been targeted by lead thieves.
