THIS YEAR'S Midsummer Happening is on Saturday July 12, on Victoria Park, Ilkeston, and features a variety of entertainment.
The Pop Divas and Stars in your Eyes finalist Carly-Marie, the Antiques Rogues Show – Ilkeston's answer to the Squadronaires from the Glenn Miller era - and Ilkeston School's talented musicians will all be taking part.

A cavalcade of vintage, veteran and classic vehicles will bring the Mayor of Ilkeston on to the Park at 12.05pm - along with a Dalek from Dr Who who promises not to 'exterminate' the children if it has its photo taken!

Charities are again holding stalls and making money for their organisations and the Phoenix Trampoline Club, sponsored by the Rotary Club, is giving a demonstration and looking for new members.

The Annual Challenge Cup will be presented to the most improved student and Erewash Sound, recently granted a licence to broadcast in Erewash, will be providing the PA sound system and broadcasting live on the internet.

Admission is free and there is a hospital tent for refreshments.
