FORECASTERS say that Ilkeston could see a white Christmas.
Parts of the county saw up to an inch of snow fall over the weekend and weather experts predict more could be on the way.

A spokesperson for the Met Office said: "Temperatures are set to stay the same in the run up to Christmas and at the moment Christmas Day is looking like it will be dry and bright.

"Forecasts are changing though and it is early to say for sure but there is the possibility of wintry showers."

Awsworth Road was closed on Friday due to ice and hazardous driving conditions.

The sporting schedule was hit hard, a frozen pitch meant Ilkeston Town's home tie against Workington was called off and junior football across the area was cancelled.
