A 17-YEAR-OLD has died after his motorbike collided with a car in Awsworth on Monday.
Sam Clee was travelling along the village's Main Street on his silver Honda when he was involved in a collision with a red Vauxhall Astra which was turning right out of Station Road.
Following the collision, the teenager, from Stapleford, was taken to the Queen's Medical Centre in Nottingham, with very serious internal injuries. He died later that day at about 3pm.
Sam was travelling towards the Gin Close Way roundabout at around 8.45am when the accident happened.
The driver of the car, a 27-year-old woman, was not injured.
Sam's brother, Kenny, has set a tribute page up on the social networking site, facebook, for friends to leave messages.
Kenny wrote: "R.I.P. sam. It's breaking me knowing I'm not going to see you again. I don't know what I'm going to do. Hope you can rest up there, and keep looking over me. Miss you mate, see you on the other side."
And friend Chantal Brown wrote: "I can't believe you've gone and left so many people behind, you were the most kind and caring lad anyone could ever meet. It still doesn't seem real, it's going to be so hard, you've left everyone heart broken."
DC Helen Neaverson, investigating the crash, said: "I would like to speak to any other motorists or pedestrians who saw the motorbike travelling in Awsworth before the collision. In addition I would like to hear from anyone who witnessed the collision itself."
Witnesses or anyone with information should call Nottinghamshire Police on 0115 967 0999 and ask to speak to DC Neaverson or PC Rachel Atkins at the Crash Investigation Unit on ext 2225.
