This week we focus on Bennerley Viaduct for Memory Lane.

This picture shows the viaduct in 1995 when work was being carried out on the well-known Ilkeston landmark.

The picture was shared by M Joseph JintyMan Gabrielli who is a member of the Ilson Bygones group.

He said: “The pictures were taken in 1995 and show phase one works to the operational railway spans only and comprised bridge repairs and painting.

“It was undertaken by British Rail Property Board at a cost of £275k and funded by British Rail Property and the Railway Heritage Trust.”
