A rose-tinted spectacle as opticians holds charity event

Pink was the theme for staff at an Ilkeston opticians to raise money for charity.

Staff at Specsavers in Ilkeston wore pink to work for the day and held a bake sale to raise £430 for Cancer Research UK. 
The Bath Street opticians is supporting Cancer Research UK as part of Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

Krishna Parmar, store director at Specsavers, said: “The whole team wanted to support this initiative as most of us know someone who has been affected by breast cancer. There is of course a serious message behind what we’re doing, but we are happy that customers stopped by and supported this great cause.”

The team also offered specs MOTs (cleaning and adjustments) in return for donations to the charity, with lots of spec-tacular prizes on offer.
