AN ILKESTON junior school raised a whopping £2,329.58 with a sponsored maths challenge, which they have donated to the NSPCC.
The children’s charity’s schools organiser Deborah Sclater-Smith was handed the money at the school on Friday before giving a talk to the children about the NSPCC’s work.
She said: “They were all so enthusiastic and welcoming, it made the time I spent in their school very enjoyable.
“Our work is only made possible by the efforts of our supporters and it is because of this support that we are able to reach out to thousands of children and families.”
Headteacher David Brown said he was extremely proud of the pupil’s efforts and thanked parents for their support.
