The inquest into the death of an alleged murder victim has been opened.
Anglea Ward, 27, was found injured in her Critchley Street home on Sunday night (May 4).
She was taken to the Queen’s Medical Centre but died a short time after 9pm.
Assistant coroner for Derbyshire, Paul McCandless opened the inquest at Derby Coroner’s Court on Thursday.
The court heard from Det Con Simon Tristram who told how officers and paramedics tried to save her life.
Her mother, father and uncle identified her body on Tuesday.
Ian Meakin, 49, also of Critchley Street, has been arrested and charged with her murder.
The inquest was adjourned to a later date.
