Ambulance station body named

The body of a 22-year-old man found behind Ilkeston ambulance station at the weekend has been identified.

Danny Haslam was discovered on Saturday afternoon at around 3pm in a wooded area on Manners Road.

Officers are not treating his death as suspicious.

Hundreds of tributes have been paid to Danny on the social networking site, Facebook.

One former teacher, Jenny Hodson, posted: “I remember the first time you walked into my classroom at college full of swagger and mischief.

“One of the most popular students I ever taught.

“You grew into such an amazing young man and always knew how to put a smile on everyone’s face.

“I still remember the football matches and the laughs we used to have.

“You had such a huge heart and often looked out for others.

“You will be greatly missed and I feel honoured to have known you. RIP Danny xxx”

Another tribute left by Trudy Morgan read: “R.I.P Danny. Got so many memories with u, such sad news! My thoughts r with ur family xxx”

A file has been handed to the coroner and an inquest into his death is expected to be opened and adjourned later this week.
