The parents of a baby who died last year have donated £5,000 from her own fund to the hospital where she was treated.
Little Amelia Rose Sutton, who suffered from brain damage, died in April last year aged just one.
Her parents Louise and Adrian set up the Help Amelia Rose Trust before she died and held a memorial night last October in her memory. The resulting funds were donated to the Royal Derby Hospital Sunshine Deck – an outdoor area where young patients can have a break from treatment set to open next month.
“When you’re confined to a hospital room or a bed there’s no enjoyment there for children,” said Louise.
“It’s nice to take them somewhere they can get away from it all.
“It’s so nice to be able to give something back to the hospital.”
