CLAIMS there could be some kind of black panther roaming Shipley Country Park have gathered pace this week as one ‘Tiser reader has reported another sighting of the beast.

Peter Ince emailed us this week to say he saw a similar beast to the one described by dog walkers in the park in last week’s story.

He said he saw one a few months ago in a field close to the park.

He ‘watched it from about 100 yards away as it moved slowly down a track in Stanley towards a farm’.

Mr Ince also reported seeing a black panther-type cat near Birchover while out walking with his wife a few years ago.

Panicked dog walkers called 999 two weeks ago when they saw what they described as a ‘black panther’ in hedges inside the park.
