Detectives have launched a manhunt after a woman was assaulted with a wine bottle at her Long Eaton home.

The victim was in her garden on Bridge Street just after midnight on Tuesday December 16 when she saw two men in the yard.

As she went to go inside, one of the men reached into the house and picked up her handbag that was beside the door.

The woman managed to grab her bag back from the man, who then took an empty wine bottle and assaulted her with it, causing cuts to her head and hands.

One of the men was described as white, between 5ft 7ins and 5ft 9ins tall and was wearing a black baseball cap and a grey hoody.

The other man was white, of a slim build, between 5ft 5ins and 5ins 6ins tall and wearing a black jumper and a black bobble hat.
