Arrest made after drugs raid at Ilkeston house

A man has been arrested on suspicion of drugs offences after police found what they believe to be cannabis plants at a house in Ilkeston.

At around 10.30am on Wednesday, June 10, police officers carried out a warrant at an address on Ladywood Road.

A spokesman for Derbyshire Police said: “Whilst inside they discovered a quantity of suspected cannabis plants and associated equipment.

“It is believed that the electric meter at the property had been bypassed by the offender which has since been made safe.”

A 59-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of the production of class b drugs and abstracting electricity. He has since been bailed pending further inquiries.
