A PRINCIPAL has been appointed to lead Ilkeston School when it becomes an academy in September.

Tracey Dundas, who has been assistant headteacher at the King George Avenue School for four years, will take on the associate principal role after headteacher of eight years Steve Daniels stepped down last week.

Mrs Dundas will be working alongside executive principal Eddie de Middelaer, who is associate principal of the new Ormiston academy at Bennerley School.

Mrs Dundas said: “I am very excited about the opportunity to lead the students of Ormiston Ilkeston Academy through their first year as an academy.”
