AN INQUEST into the death of a baby at an Ilkeston flat has been opened in Derby this week.
Six-week-old Finnley Jacoby Braisby died in hospital on March 12, hours after parents Danny Braisby and Kirsty Holmes called an ambulance to their Station Road home.
Coroner for Derby and South Derbyshire Dr Robert Hunter said that Finnley had stopped breathing and was taken to the Queen’s Medical Centre where his life-support machine was later turned off.
Pc Kimberley Birkin told Derby Coroners Court on Friday: “I arrived at about 7.30am just before his life support machine was turned off. It took several hours for him to eventually pass away.”
The inquest was adjourned following further inquiries.
