erewash has been honoured for its flower beds and plant displays in this years East Midlands in Bloom awards.
Both Ilkeston and Long Eaton town centres were given silver gilt awards in the large town category.
Judges awards were presented to the Friends of Stanton Road Cemetery for their efforts to preserve the heritage of the site for future generations.
Spanish Bar on South Street also scooped a judge’s award.
Those responsible for the restoration of the Long Eaton Cemetery Chapel were also recognised.
Jeff Bates, Chair of East Midlands in Bloom, said: “Despite the tough economic conditions, all our Bloom judges found that the standards achieved were very high and there had been a number of significantly improvements across the villages, towns and cities in our region.
“Well done to all involved.”
