Bonfire events in Ilkeston set to be sparkling occasions

People looking to for fireworks this bonfire night need look no further, with a range of events set to take place in the area.

An event at West Hallam White Rose Cricket Club on Saturday November 8 will include two fireworks displays. It will also include a live band, music, a licenced bar and a barbecue. The gates open at 6.30pm at the club which is based off Cat and Fiddle Lane.

This year’s ‘Erewash bonfire and fireworks extravaganza’ will be held on Wednesday November 5 at West Park in Long Eaton. It always attracts thousands of people and is one the biggest community bonfire and fireworks displays in the area.

The gates at West Park open at 6pm with funfair rides, stalls and food. The event will begin with the official lighting of the bonfire by the Mayor of Erewash, Councillor Kewal Singh Athwal, at 7pm.

Also on November 5 will be a charity bonfire night that will be held at the George Spencer Academy in Arthur Mee Road in Stapleford. Doors open at 6pm with the bonfire starting at 6.30pm and fireworks following at 7pm.

A display will also be held at The Old Cross in Church Street, Stapleford from 5pm.
