AN INSPIRATIONAL seven-year-old is having her hair cut off to raise funds and awareness for a little-known charity.

Chloe Barker, who goes to Granby Junior School in Heanor Road, has decided to have at least seven inches of hair cut off in aid of The Little Princess Trust. The charity makes wigs out of donated hair to help children who have lost theirs due to cancer treatment.

Having seen the school secretary lose her hair at Chloe’s former school Charlotte Infants, in Charlotte Street, the thoughtful youngster decided facing the chop was the best way to raise awareness.

Mum Katherine Barker was so impressed that she too will be having her hair cut off to support the bid.

She said: “I’m so proud of her – I can’t believe she could be so generous at such a young age.”

They will be having their locks chopped at Klass Kuts in Cotmanhay on February 11.
