Builders step in to help OAP

An Ilkeston resident would like to issue a “thank you” to builders after they came to the aid ofan 84-year-old woman who tripped and fell.

Annette Cooper has praised builders at the site of the new Morrisons store, in Field Road, Ilkeston, after they sprung into action and called an ambulance to the scene.

The 84-year-old woman, called Sheila, tripped and injured herself on the path at the side of the building works.

Mrs Cooper said: “One of the workmen, Richard, came over and asked if we needed an ambulance calling.

“On behalf of everyone there, I’d like to say a big thank you to him.”

Sheila was taken to hospital with minor injuries to her nose and knee.
