Over 700 young people will be helped into work after Derbyshire County Council signed a contract to deliver one of its biggest ever apprenticeship drives.
An agreement has been signed meaning that 500 apprenticeships will be created across the county council.
The authority is also offering training grants of £2,500 to small and medium sized companies to take on apprentices creating a further 200 training opportunities in a £500,000 scheme.
These will be targeted at 16- and 17-year-olds who are not in education, employment or training.
